ActionStation has been offered a wonderful opportunity - two of our staff members, Campaign Director Laura O'Connell Rapira and Campaigns Manager Nina Atkinson, have been offered places in the 2016 Campaigning Fellowship being run in New Zealand by the Centre for Australian Progress.
The Fellowship is a professional development course for campaigners, an investment in ActionStation that will help us to excel and win on the issues that matter.
ActionStation doesn't have a budget for this kind of training, but it is a fantastic opportunity to develop the capacity of our team to build and serve the social change movement in New Zealand, and ensure that ActionStation is working at the leading edge of campaigning in 2016.
From the Australian Progress website - "Graduates of the Fellowship Program are fluent in campaign strategy and theory of change, and confident in using a full suite of campaign tactics. Most importantly, they join an alumni of supportive peers, who together will continue to provide each other with support, advice and friendship for many years to come." This is an incredible opportunity for ActionStation - will you chip in to help Laura and Nina take part?

Where does ActionStation get its money from?
ActionStation is independent and member led - we don't accept money from government, political parties or big business.
We rely on donations from our members to make our campaigns happen. From time to time we’ll ask our members to fund a specific campaign or a specific action (e.g. to pay for the costs of an advertisement or billboard). All donations generated by these are used for that specific project. If for any reason we are unable to spend the money on the action for which it was raised we give our members the option to get a refund, or to choose how they would like to have the money used instead.
Since launching in 2014, we have also received some money from charitable trusts and foundations. The bulk of our start up funding came from Global Green Grants.
We are a very lean organisation. Our staff team is small, with one sole purpose - to build and run winning campaigns on issues our members care about. Our operating budget is funded entirely by small donations from members.
